Emily is a designer and strategist who is passionate about bridging the worlds of inquiry and possibilities. By immersing herself in users’ stories and understanding their daily lives, she is often surprised by the non-obvious insights that are revealed.
As a practitioner, she works to connect research, design, and technology. The process of translating user needs and motivation into elegant design solutions intrigues her by providing fresh challenges and opportunities to explore new industries, services, and user mindsets and behaviours.
Emily has research and design experience in retail, complex enterprise systems, financial services, e-commerce, and healthcare. Her research and design skills span the entire solution development life cycle from discovery to implementation, including ethnographic, trends and design research; personas and user journey development; requirements elicitation; wireframing, task flow and user flow design. She has worked on projects for multinational clients across Asia, including Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Exhibition Design from Tsinghua University and an MDes from Illinois Institute of Technology and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
